New Delhi, June 28: In a letter to All India Mahila Congress President Sushmita Dev, Haryana Pradesh Mahila Congress unit chief Sumitra Chouhan submitted her resignation. Chouhan wrote that she is disappointed with the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 results of the party. But, the resignation proposed by Indian National Congress president has disheartened her, she said. "I am very disappointed at the results of Loksabha elections 2019. But, I am much more disappointed and disheartened by the resignation proposed by Shri Rahul Gandhi, Hon'ble President, INC. The party's poor performance at the husting was nothing to do with Rahul Ji, but everything to do with serious infighting, backbiting and one-upmanship practised by party functionaries," Chouhan said.  Rahul Gandhi Reveals Who Will Decide on Next Congress Chief.

Chouhan added that she is against the resignation of Gandhi and wish him to withdraw it immediately. She added that Rahul is the only one who can take the party forward, the only leader acceptable to take the party cadre. She said that if Rahul Gandhi does not withdraw his resignation, she too will follow suit.

"I'll not accept any party position, till Shri Rahul Gandhi withdraws his resignation. I tender my resignation herewith and I request my resignation be accepted," Sumitra Chouhan said in a letter.
