Victims Belong to Three States
Police said the rescued girls are between 11 and 17 years of age. Of the 17 victims, 13 are from Bihar, three from West Bengal and one from Assam. Following the rescue, the girls were produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC). After counselling, they were shifted to government-run shelter homes, where they will receive care and rehabilitation support.
Investigation Underway
Preliminary investigations indicate that the girls had allegedly been subjected to repeated s*xual exploitation. Police have registered a case and are questioning the four arrested individuals to determine the full extent of the alleged trafficking network.
