TCS iON apologised for severe power failures at the iDZ Sitapura centre in Rajasthan's Jaipur, which disrupted the NEET-PG and AIIMS CRE exams. Venguswamy Ramaswamy, Head of the iON Business Unit at TCS, addressed the situation in an official statement, "During both these exams, a single centre, the iDZ Sitapura centre in Jaipur, Rajasthan, experienced internal power failures over both days, due to unknown local electrical issues. The expert team from the vendors responsible for electrical maintenance are working to get this fixed urgently. Further, all possible measures are being put in place to avoid recurrence of such issues in future."
Expressing regret over the disruptions, the unit added, "We deeply regret the inconvenience caused to the candidates who were undertaking the NEET-PG and AIIMS CRE exams at these centres and are working with the respective authorities to ensure that the candidates are able to complete these exams at the earliest."
Official Action and Rescheduling
The technical glitch triggered widespread concern among medical aspirants, leading to protests at the venue over repeated system crashes. Following the outage, exam authorities intervened to safeguard the academic interests of those appearing for the test. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) announced a re-examination specifically for the candidates affected at the Jaipur centres. The re-test has been scheduled for September 5, ensuring that all impacted students get a fair opportunity to complete their evaluation.
