Thane, August 3: Heavy rains lashed Thane city causing waterlogging on roads in low-lying areas. Local train services on the central line were delayed as railway tracks in Thane were waterlogged following incessant rainfall in the city. Social media was flooded with pictures and videos of flooded roads and waterlogged railway tracks in Thane. Two buses broke down in Anand Nagar and Ghodbandar areas. Bhiwandi, Kalyan and Ulhasnagar also witnessed heavy downpour which left several areas waterlogged. The Thane police issued helpline numbers for Thane, Bhiwandi, Kalyan and Ulhasnagar. Meanwhile, heavy rains continued in Mumbai, Palghar and Navi Mumbai on Saturday. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), heavy rains will continue in Mumbai and surrounding areas throughout the day.
