According to the information emerging around the visit, Nandy had travelled to Rourkela for a promotional event involving gold products for local firm Gehana Trade Gold Private Limited, located on Kachery Road in Rourkela.
The company's director, Edwin Nayar, had invited her for the promotional launch. Her visit was therefore linked to a commercial promotional event, rather than a government programme. The details of who arranged her transport and accommodation are now part of the police inquiry. What Tina Nandy Said In The Video
In the video, Nandy is seen speaking about her time in Rourkela. She mentioned that while she went there for the shoot, she did not actually stayed at the Circuit House. She added that she was there for only about 10 minutes. She further added that she does not make po*n videos anymore.
Police Probe Accommodation Arrangements
Police sources said a local travel operator had provided a luxury vehicle at the request of a senior official of a private firm in Rourkela, Indian Express reported. Nandy reportedly travelled from Jharsuguda airport to Rourkela in the vehicle. Investigators have questioned three people in connection with the accommodation arrangements, including the son of a retired SP-rank officer, the travel agency owner and a co-owner of the private firm.
The three were questioned and subsequently allowed to leave. Police have not registered a case over the Circuit House stay so far. “The investigation is on. We are probing under what circumstances the booking was done, who recommended it, and whether due process was followed,” said a police officer.
Officials Seek Booking Details
Senior government officers, ministers, MLAs, accredited journalists and other dignitaries are entitled to stay at the Circuit House following approval from the authorities concerned. Police have sought a detailed report from the Panposh sub-collector's office regarding the procedure for booking accommodation, records of people hosted at the facility in recent months and other relevant details.
Panposh sub-collector Chandra Kanta Mallick said he had no information about the stay of any actor or film star at the Circuit House.
DIG, Western Range, Rourkela, Brijesh Rai said investigators were trying to establish how Nandy obtained accommodation at the government facility and whether the prescribed process was followed. “We have interrogated some people in connection with the incident. The investigation is on and we are trying to get the details like under what circumstances she got accommodation in the circuit house and whether due process was followed for booking. We are trying to get those details first.” Rai said police had not registered any case in this regard yet.
The Rourkela Circuit House had already come under scrutiny following a separate police operation at the premises. Police had earlier raided the facility and arrested seven people while allegedly recovering arms. Youth BJP leader Prakash Paswan, 35, who was a representative of Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram, was also arrested from Bihar for allegedly sheltering armed criminals at the government-run facility. Paswan was later suspended from the Bharatiya Janata Party following the incident.
The latest inquiry is focused on the circumstances surrounding Nandy's accommodation, including who recommended the booking, how the room was allotted and whether the established protocol was followed.
Her visit was connected to a promotional launch for Gehana Trade Gold Private Limited, with company director Edwin Martin Nayar having invited her for the event. Police are examining the arrangements made for her visit, including transport and accommodation. No case has been registered in relation to her Circuit House stay as of the latest information from police. The investigation remains underway.
