Pune, November 2: In a shameful incident for humanity, people were seen collecting onions after a truck lost control and crashed into the divider, instead of helping the driver. On Thursday, a truck loaded with onions went down the alvan bridge near Lonavala on Pune-Mumbai Expressway in the early hours of the day. The truck fell 30 feet down, landing on the old Mumbai-Pune Highway.

The truck driver, who was critically injured, was left unattended. Reports said and even photographs show people collecting the onion sacks instead of arranging for medical help for the driver. The injured driver was later rushed to a private hospital at Somatane Phata and is currently undergoing treatment.

Reports say that the truck was headed to Mumbai from Pune and that the accident took place around 6 am on Thursday.

Eyewitnesses informed that news of onion sacks scattered on the road spread in the village in no time. The villagers carried sacks and clothes to pick the onions, paying little attention to the driver, lying in pain.
