A five-member medical board from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has concluded that Twisha Sharma died by suicide, finding no injuries suggestive of physical assault or struggle on her body. The final forensic opinion was submitted to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) following a second autopsy ordered by the court.

Twisha Sharma, a 33-year-old former model and actor, was found dead on the night of May 12 at her matrimonial home in the Katara Hills area of Bhopal. She had married advocate Samarth Singh in December 2025. Following her death, her maternal family alleged foul play, claiming she was murdered and subjected to domestic abuse and dowry harassment. In contrast, her in-laws maintained that she died by suicide. The 11-page medical opinion was prepared after a second post-mortem examination on May 24, conducted on the directions of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. As part of their forensic evaluation, the AIIMS medical board also inspected the scene of the incident in Bhopal.

Dr. Sudhir Gupta, Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine at AIIMS Delhi, stated that the board deliberated on the case from all possible angles before delivering its scientific findings. He highlighted that the medical opinion effectively resolves key disputes in the case, including questions surrounding the ligature material used—specifically a gymnastics belt fitted with a metal ring.
