The canine called "Tommy" successfully killed the reptile during the early hours of Sunday, August 4, but succumbed to venom-induced injuries shortly after the encounter. The incident unfolded around 2:00 AM on Sunday when a venomous snake slithered toward the family's residence. Tommy immediately raised an alarm by barking and positioned himself between the reptile and the house. Rather than retreating, the dog engaged the snake in a fierce struggle that lasted for nearly an hour, ultimately killing the reptile but sustaining a fatal bite in the process. Approximately an hour after the fight concluded, the loyal canine succumbed to the effects of the venom. Family Pays Tribute to Their Companion
Having spent nine years guarding the household, Tommy was considered an inseparable part of the family. "If he had not stopped the snake that night, it could have entered the house and harmed someone," the family stated, reports India Today. The household bid an emotional farewell to their companion before laying him to rest.
