Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) spokesperson Saurav Das on Sunday said the party and supporters were protesting outside Delhi’s Parliament Street Police Station after police allegedly refused to meet a woman who has accused ACP Vivek Bhagat of molestation during a protest in New Delhi. Das said they would remain outside the station until they were allowed to meet the alleged victim.

In a post on X, Das said, “The Police is unwilling to meet the victim who has been molested by ACP Vivek Bhagat,” and described the alleged refusal as unacceptable. He added that the group had requested the presence of a senior police officer during the meeting.

The development follows allegations made by a woman journalist/content creator who claimed that ACP Vivek Bhagat sexually assaulted or groped her while she was covering the detention of a protester during a demonstration at Jantar Mantar on October 3. According to the complaint-related accounts, the woman alleged that she was recording the detention when the police officer allegedly touched her inappropriately and pushed her. The allegations emerged during protests demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over issues surrounding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

Delhi Police Transfers Three Complaints to Crime Branch

Delhi Police on Sunday said it had received complaints from three female journalists alleging sexual harassment by police personnel during the October 3 protest. The New Delhi district police said the complaints had been transferred to the Crime Branch at Kamla Market for further action and a “fair and impartial inquiry”. The transfer came after journalists, protesters and supporters of the complainants gathered outside Parliament Street Police Station, demanding action over the allegations.

CJP Demands FIR Against ACP

CJP has accused Delhi Police of failing to register an FIR against ACP Bhagat. Saurav Das had earlier demanded that an FIR be registered and questioned why the officer was allegedly being protected.
