Kolkata, May 25: A woman chopped off her husband’s head with the help of her friends for making advances towards her friend in West Bengal’s Hooghly.

The victim, Shubhjyoti Basu, had married the accused, Pooja, one and a half months ago, reported India Today.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shrirampur Zone, Arvind Anand, said that Basu’s murder was planned and executed by his wife and her friends. The incident took place when Basu, after meeting his wife’s friend Sarmistha, got attracted to her and tried to make romantic advances towards her. Sarmishta, angry at these gestures, told everything to her husband Subir as well as her friend Pooja. Together, they hatched a conspiracy to teach Basu a lesson. Gujarat Shocker: Man Chops Live-in Partner’s Nose in Dhoraji; Accused Absconding
