How the Seating Dispute Escalated
According to officials, Banerjee was travelling toward Surat for a web series shoot with a sleeper-class ticket but had boarded a reserved AC compartment. When Banerjee refused, the passenger alerted Ticket Collector Harikesh Tripathi, along with RPF Assistant Sub-Inspector Yamini Kant Mishra and Constable Rajesh Kumar. Authorities state that efforts to calm Banerjee failed as she grew aggressive and verbally abused the officials.
Allegations of Assault and Vandalism
The First Information Report (FIR), registered on August 13 on a complaint by ASI Mishra, details that Banerjee allegedly undressed herself, produced a razor blade, and brandished it during the scuffle. Police report that Mishra sustained injuries while attempting to restrain her, and Banerjee also inflicted self-harm during the commotion.
In addition to the physical assault, the complaint states that Banerjee damaged the officer's uniform, spectacles, and mobile device. Police Statement and Legal Action
Borivali GRP Inspector Kunda Gavade noted that witnesses reported Banerjee appeared distressed over her inability to secure an AC coach ticket. Officials stated that she initially refused legal counsel or contacting relatives, insisting on being taken into custody.
GRP Senior Inspector Pandrinath Kande confirmed that Banerjee was booked under multiple sections involving assault on public servants, causing harm, endangering life, and intentional insult. She was subsequently released on bail.

Antara Banerjee is a Kolkata-born actress and trained Kathak dancer who later moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. She made her screen debut with the television show Gumrah: End of Innocence and went on to appear in popular Hindi television series, including Badho Bahu (as Pinky Ahlawat), Kasautii Zindagii Kay (as Suman Sharma), Laal Ishq, and Kavach 2.
