Independent rapper Santy Sharma has announced a press conference in Mumbai on August 1 to address the ongoing controversy over his recent remarks on the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), saying he will present facts and evidence to clear his position. Titled "August Kranti," the event comes after Sharma's comments dismissing the CJP as "internet drama" triggered a sharp divide on social media, with the rapper further claiming his YouTube channel of 11 years was subsequently taken down.

Announcing the press conference through his Instagram Stories, Sharma said, "To those supporting CJP, I only ask you to wait. Once the inside story and evidence are revealed, everything will become clear."
He said he decided to address the media directly after receiving numerous messages from followers and urged people not to form opinions before hearing his side of the story.
Sharma added that he would also speak about the ongoing NEET debate at the press conference. He said he plans to draw a comparison between celebrations by successful NEET students in Kota and what he described as politically motivated protests. The row began after a video of Sharma went viral in which he described the CJP as "just internet drama" while commenting on the country's political climate. The remarks sparked backlash online, with some users defending his right to express an opinion while others criticised him strongly.
Sharma later claimed that his YouTube channel had been permanently removed, saying the platform told him it could not be recovered. Calling it the loss of 11 years of dreams, struggles and memories, he alleged the takedown was linked to the backlash and hate messages he received following his comments. Who Is Santy Sharma?
Born Ganesh Sharma in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, Santy Sharma began his independent music career in 2016 with Suni Suni Sadko. He went on to gain popularity with tracks including Udaan, Koshish Meri, Fake Stars, Mujhe Pyaar Kar and Gangsta.
He recently made his Bollywood entry by contributing to the soundtrack of Akshay Kumar's Housefull 5.
