New Delhi, September 3: Rebel Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Alka Lamba is likely to join the Indian National Congress months after stinging relations with the AAP and its founder and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. She visited Sonia Gandhi at her residence, 10 Janpath, on Tuesday morning. The visuals of the same were shared by news agency ANI. Assembly elections in Delhi will be held in 2020 with AAP seeking re-election after a massive victory in 2015 elections. Alka Lamba Meets Sonia Gandhi:

In August, Lamba said that she has decided to resign from the party and will contest upcoming polls as an independent candidate. AAP also said that they are ready to accept her resignation.

The Chandani Chowk MLA had refused to campaign for the party in 2019 Lok Sabha elections. She even abstained to participate in Arvind Kejriwal's roadshow after she was asked to stand behind his car. She also engaged in a Twitter spat with AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj, who asked her to resign from the party.
