Hubli, January 18: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday lashed out at those who are opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act. Shah, while attending a pro-CAA rally in Karnataka’s Hubli, called political parties and people opposing the act 'anti-dalits'. Senior ministers of the Karnataka government including Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa were also present at the rally that was held at the Nehru Maidan in Hubli. Citizenship Amendment Act Comes into Effect From January 10, Says Home Ministry in Gazette Notification.

Shah said, “I want to ask those opposing Citizenship Amendment Act, what will you gain by going against dalits who have come from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan? Those who are opposing CAA are anti-dalits. The Home Minister arrived in Bengaluru in the morning. He then participated in an event organised by Vedanta Bharati at the Palace Grounds from 12.30pm. He advised school children to always tread the right path in life. He said, “I request the students to not fall on the face-meaning of the Vivekadeepini. They must understand its core values from their teachers and should try and implement it into their lives. I assure them it will ensure that they always tread the right path in life.” According to reports, over one lakh schoolchildren attend the event.
