Thiruvananthapuram, November 27: A BJP delegation will visit Sabarimala to take first hand account of the alleged atrocities on devotees by the police and Kerala administration protesting against the Supreme Court's order allowing women of all age group entry into the temple. Saroj Pandey, Prahlad Joshi, Vinod Sonkar and NK Kateel are members of the delegation that will be visiting the temple, tweeted news agency ANI. The three members delegation will submit a report within 15 days to BJP President Amit Shah. History of Sabarimala: Why Women Weren't Allowed Into The Lord Ayyappa Shrine.

BJP's decision to send a delegation to the Sabarimala comes the day when the Kerala High Court upheld the prohibitory orders in Sabarimala and said that Sabarimala is not a place for protests. The Kerala High Court also appointed a 3-member panel of observers led by a retired judge to look in the case of protestors gathered at the Sabarimala. The women demanded that two days be solely dedicated for the entry of women in the temple and have asked for the removal of protesters on those two days. Earlier, the Supreme Court had said that it will hear the review petition on its decision to allow women of all age group to enter the Sabarimala temple on January 22, 2019. The revenue of the Sabarimala Temple in Kerala has been hit drastically this year following the row over the Supreme Court verdict allowing entry of women of all ages. The footfall of the temple has gone down during the Mandalam season this year. According to reports, there has been a decline of over Rs 7 crore as compared to the revenue last year during this season.
