Thiruvananthapuram, November 23: Four women have moved the Kerala High Court and asked for the removal of the protestors blocking the entry of women in the Sabarimala temple. The women have demanded that two days be solely dedicated for the entry of women in the temple and have asked for the removal of protesters on those two days. Earlier, the Supreme Court had said that it will hear the review petition on its decision to allow women to enter the Sabarimala temple on January 22. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had earlier made Kerala state government's stand clear on the issue of entry of women in the temple. Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan had said after the all party meeting, which ended inconclusively, that the state government had no choice but to implement the Supreme Court's order and announced that his government would provide protection to women seeking an entry in the temple. The Sabarimala temple reopened on November 17 and among the pilgrims who registered on the portal - sabarimalaq.com, 560 women devotees in the age group of 10-50 had also registered for the darshan.

Activist Trupti Desai, who was heading towards the Sabarimala temple on November 16, was stranded at the Kochi airport for five hours amid protests outside and had to return back without a darshan of lord Ayyappa. Sensing trouble, the Kerala government has imposed Section 144 (CrPC) Nilakkal , Pamba and Sannidhanam -- from where the devotees begin the trek to the hilltop Lord Ayyappa shrine. Desai had written to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, seeking protection to visit the Sabarimala temple. In her letter, she had stressed that the Constitution guarantees her the right to practice her religion.
