Mumbai, October 14:  Buldhana Vidhan Sabha constituency is one of the 288 constituencies of Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha and one of the seven which are located in Buldhana district. Sanjay Rambhau Gaikwad of Shiv Sena party won from the constituency. Buldhana Vidhan Sabha constituency had their polls on October 21. The counting of votes and the final results were declared on October 24.

Buldhana district is located in the Amravati division of Maharashtra. It is situated at the western border of Vidarbha region and is 500 km away from Mumbai. Harshwardhan Vasantrao Sapkal from the Congress party is the sitting MLA from the constituency. In 2014 General Assembly Election, he won with 46,985 votes beating MNS candidate Sanjay Ram. Aaditya Thackeray of Shiv Sena Wins MLA Seat in Assembly Polls.

The Election Commission has decided to conduct live webcasting from over 9,000 polling stations, including sensitive ones, during the Maharashtra Assembly elections. The state polls will also for the first time witness use of VVPAT (voter-verifiable paper audit trail) machines.

The main parties contesting for the 288 Maharashtra Assembly seats elections are the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena, and the Indian National Congress (INC). In 2014, NDA sweeped the Maharashtra Assembly elections with the Bharatiya Janata Party winning 122 of the 260 seats that it contested for, and the Shiv Sena bagged 63 of the 282 seats it contested for.
