Bhopal, April 28: Congress veteran Digvijaya Singh has condemned the party's ally in Bihar, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), for fielding Tanveer Hussain from Begusarai. The seat witnesses a three-cornered contest between senior BJP leader and Union Minister Giriraj Singh, former JNUSU leader and CPI candidate Kanhaiya Kumar, and RJD's Hussain.

Digvijaya, while speaking at a campaign rally in Bhopal, said he was disappointed with RJD's decision to not to accommodate Kanhaiya in the grand alliance. The former Madhya Pradesh chief minister claimed that he had also attempted to broker an alliance between RJD and CPI for the Begusarai seat. BJP Felicitates Youth Who Rebutted Digvijaya Singh's '15 Lakh' Jibe With 'Surgical Strikes' Counter in Public

"I am a supporter of Kanhaiya Kumar. And I have told my party members as well that the RJD has committed a huge mistake by not allotting the seat to CPI," Digvijaya said.

Here's What the Congress Leader Said on Kanhaiya Kumar:

Begusarai will go to polls tomorrow in the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2019. A high-octane electoral battle was seen in this round of the polls, where the CPI thrusted all its might to reach out to the voters, whereas, the BJP recalled among the electorate the 2016 JNU sedition row -- in which Kanhaiya has been accused of raising anti-national slogans.

Kanhaiya would also be campaigning for Digvijaya in Bhopal -- slated for polls on May 12 -- where Digvijaya is locked in a contest against BJP candidate and 2008 Malegaon blasts-accused Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur.
