In Gohad, the contest is between sitting BJP MLAĀ Lalsingh Arya and Congress candidateĀ Ranvir Jatav. In Gwalior, incumbent BJP legislator Jaibhan Singh Pawaiya faced a challenge from Congress candidateĀ Pradyuman Singh Tomar. BJP exuded confidence its sitting MLAĀ Bharat Singh Kushwah fromĀ Gwalior Rural seat and fielded him again in the constituency.Ā Bharat Singh fought withĀ Madan Kushwaha, who quit BSP and joined the Congress ahead of elections.
In Gwalior South, BJP fielded its sitting MLAĀ Narayan Singh Kushwah against Congress candidateĀ Prawn Pathak. In Gwalior East, however, the BJP replaced its sitting MLA Maya Singh withĀ Satish Sikarwar, who was challenged by Congress candidateĀ Munna Lal Goyal. TheĀ Bhitarwar assembly seat witnessed an electoral contest between Congress's sitting MLAĀ Lakhan Singh Yadav and BJP nomineeĀ Anoop Mishra.
