New Delhi, March 25: BJP Member of Parliament (MP) Hema Malini on Monday, reacting on a question on the amount of work she has done, gave a weird answer saying that "I have done a lot of work but so much work that I can't just recognise right now, I don't remember much." Talking to CNN News 18 reporter, Hema Malini was asked if she is confident of winning the seat again. Hema Malini, who joined the BJP in the year 2004, has served as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha from 2003 to 2009. She was nominated from the Mathura seat in the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, which she won, earning a berth in the Lok Sabha.

There were rumours that the BJP would replace Hema Malini with Srikanth Varma this time. However, the BJP gave the ticket to Hema Malini to contest on the seat for the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections as well. After news of Sapna Choudhary joining Congress surfaced on Saturday, it was speculated that she would be pitched against Hema Malini on Mathura seat. However, Choudhary on Sunday announced that she had not joined the Congress and would not be campaigning for any party.
