The election results of Jamui, featuring the candidature of top LJP leader Chirag Paswan, will be declared by the Election Commission of India. Paswan has won the seat with a resounding mandate. Notification for the polls in Jamui, along with the other constituencies set to be contested in phase-I, was issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on March 18. The candidates were allowed to file their nominations by March 25. The Mahagathbandhan has fielded RLSP leader Bhudev Choudhary from the seat, whereas, the National Democratic Alliance has given the ticket to the sitting LJP MP Chirag Paswan.

In the 2014 general elections, the seat was won by Chirag Paswan with a margin of nearly 85,000 votes against his nearest RJD rival Sudhanshu Shekhar Bhaskar.

Will the LJP retain the seat? Answer would known on May 23, when the results of the Lok Sabha elections 2019 will be declared by the Election Commission.
