Chennai, July 24: The Tamil Nadu government has told the Madras High Court that the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK leader J Jayalalithaa, was never pregnant in her life time. The state government is also reported to have submitted video clips of the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister to prove their point, according to media reports.

A case has been filed by a woman in Bengaluru named Amrutha, who has claimed to be the biological daughter of the late AIADMK leader. The statement that 'J Jayalalithaa was never pregnant in her lifetime' was reportedly made by the Tamil Nadu Advocate General, Vijay Narayan, while arguing against the case filed.

Vijay Narayan, the Advocate General, in his submission stated that the intention of the petitioner was only to get the properties and wealth of the late J Jayalalithaa, who was fondly called as Amma by her followers and supporters. The advocate general also questioned Amrutha over the non-availability of any photos of the woman with the late leader, who she claims was her mother.

It was brought to the notice of Justice S Vaidyanathan, who is presiding over the case, that the date of birth of Amrutha also does not match with her claim. Amrutha, in the record submitted by her, has mentioned August 1980 as her month and year of birth. A video clip was submitted to the court which belongs to 1980 showing Jayalalithaa at a film award show. The advocate general told the court that the clip is from July 1980, just a month before the birth of Amrutha, but no signs of pregnancy could be seen, argued the advocate general.

Narayan went as far as saying that the DNA sample of Amrutha can be compared to those of the other relatives of Jayalalithaa, if needed. The case has been posted for hearing till next week by Justice Vaidyanathan.

Amrutha, in her petition, has made other claims such as that the late Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu was a Brahmin. And has requested court that the body of Jayalalithaa be exhumed so that she and her family can cremate it as per the rituals. According to media reports, she has also requested the court to conduct a DNA case of Jayalalithaa, so as to determine her parentage.
