Hasirani is expected to file her nomination papers in Haldia on Tuesday, with Adhikari likely to accompany her, according to reports. She has expressed confidence about contesting the seat and said she is ready to work for the people of Nandigram.
Why Nandigram seat is vacant

One TMC faction has announced Sanchita Pradhan (Dey) for Nandigram and Rabiul Alam Chowdhury for Rejinagar. A rebel faction led by Ritabrata Banerjee has also announced candidates for the two constituencies.
The Election Commission is expected to rule on the competing claims over the TMC's identity and election symbol, adding another layer of uncertainty to the contests.

The Nandigram and Rejinagar bypolls are scheduled for October 6, with counting and results expected on October 9.
