New Delhi, Sep 13: All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday launched a scathing attack at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the rise in fuel prices. Owaisi said that the Prime Minister has created enough darkness by raising the price of petrol and diesel beyond what a common man in India can afford. "Want to say PM Modi that he has already created enough darkness by ensuring that prices of petrol and diesel go beyond the reach of the common man", Owaisi said.

Taking a dig at the Prime Minister's statement 'we are the light, the opposition is darkness', Owaisi said Modi has created darkness by not fulfilling promises he made. On Thursday, the Prime Minister lashed out at the Congress, saying they have failed to play the role of opposition after its defeat in 2014 general elections.

While addressing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers from five Lok Sabha constituencies – Jaipur (Rural), Nawada, Ghaziabad, Hazaribagh and Arunachal West, Modi said, “In last four years, the truth of Congress and its associates have been revealed. Earlier public removed them due to their failure to deliver good governance, inefficiency to take decision and corruption. Now they have failed to play the role of opposition”.

According to a report by ANI, the Prime Minister hit out at the Gandhi family, saying the struggles of the ground-level Congress workers have benefited only one family. While asserting that BJP will continue making efforts towards taking the nation to new heights, the Prime Minister said: “None of the political parties has the courage to take everyone forward together. It is only the BJP that believes in ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’,” he said.
