Mumbai, May 23: Shiv Sena candidate Omraje Nimbalkar won from Osmanabad Lok Sabha seat in Maharashtra. Osmanabad parliamentary seat went to polls on April 18 in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections. Gaikwad Ravindra Vishwanath of the Shiv Sena is the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) from Osmanabad. Denying ticket to its sitting lawmaker, the Shiv Sena has fielded Omraje Nimbalkar.

The NCP nominated former state minister Ranajagjitsinha Patil. The process of filing nomination for Osmanabad Lok Sabha election began on March 19. The last day for nominations was March 26. The NCP has a tie-up with the Congress and other regional outfits, while the BJP and Shiv Sena are contesting together. The NCP will contest 20 seats, whereas Congress 24. The BJP-Shiv Sena combine together won 41 seats in the 2014 Lok Sabha election, while the Congress bagged two and the NCP four. Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to be held in seven phases - on April 11, April 18, April 23, April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19.
