The results of the Patiala Lok Sabha Constituency will be declared today. The counting of votes has begun in the parliamentary seat in Punjab at 8 am on Thursday, May 23. Voting for the Patiala seat took place in the seventh and final phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 on May 19. The Patiala Lok Sabha seat has nine assembly constituencies: Patiala, Patiala Rural, Nabha, Rajpura, Dera Bassi, Ghanaur, Sanour, Shutrana and Samana. Out of these assembly seats, seven has Congress legislatures. The Congress fielded Three-time MP and Captain Amarinder Singh's Wife Preneet Kaur, while the Bharatiya Janata Party's alliance Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) gave the ticket to Surjit Singh Rakhra from Patiala. The last date of filing nomination for the seat was April 22. The scrutiny of nominations papers took place on April 30.
