Mumbai, October 21: Union Minister Piyush Goyal, who is in Mumbai to cast his vote for the assembly elections in the state, said he is confident that the  BJP-Shiv Sena alliance will win with majority. According to a tweet by ANI, Goyal, who cast his vote in the Malabar Hill constituency on Monday, said that the opposition is nowhere in the contest as opposition has lost all credibility.  Goyal also said that people are with Prime Minister Narendra Modi  and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. "I am confident that the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance will win around 225 seats, opposition has lost all credibility and is nowhere in the contest", Goyal said. Voting across 288 Assembly constituencies of Maharashtra began on a peaceful note on Monday morning at 7 am. Security has been beefed up across the state. Besides Maharashtra and Haryana, assembly bypolls are underway in 51 seats and Lok Sabha by-elections in two constituencies across India. Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people to come out in large numbers to cast vote and enrich the "festival of democracy".

"Elections are taking place for Haryana and Maharashtra assemblies. There are also by-polls taking place in various parts of India. I urge voters in these states and seats to turnout in record numbers and enrich the festival of democracy. I hope youngsters vote in large numbers," the prime minister wrote on Twitter.
