New Delhi, December 15: A day after the Supreme Court quashed opposition’s request probe in the Rafale deal, Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday said that he would summon the Attorney General, and Comptroller and Auditor General for ‘lying’ in the apex court.

Addressing the media, he said, “Government lied in SC that the CAG report was presented in the house and in PAC and PAC has probed it. Government said in SC it is in public domain. Where is it? Have you seen it? I am going to take this up with other members of PAC. We will summon AG and CAG.”  Full Text of Rafale Deal Verdict by Supreme Court.

The senior Congress leader was of the opinion the BJP-led Central government misled the Supreme Court about Rafale deal and fed wrong information. He said, “I request all PAC members to ask the Comptroller and Auditor General to come out with details of when the case was placed before PAC and when it was examined. We will also try to call them.”

Adding more, he said Narendra Modi-led government got a clean chit based on wrong information, and this is not right. Kharge said that he would investigate the matter in the Joint Parliamentary probe.

Reacting on the Kharge's statements, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy commented, "PAC Chairman Mallikarjun Kharge saying he has not got CAG report then we have to take his word, he should file affidavit or review petition in court saying I did not receive and the committee has not examined it."

Earlier, hours Congress chief Rahul Gandhi called a press conference on Friday after the Supreme Court verdict, and accused the PM Modi-government a liar. He had raised questions the basis of the court’s decision and said, “Chowkidar chor hai! PM Modi you can hide and run, you won't be saved. The day there is an inquiry it will come out... Narendra Modi, Anil Ambani.” Rafale Deal: 'CAG Report on Pricing Not Shared With PAC', Rahul Gandhi Questions 'Foundation' of Supreme Court Judgement.

Gandhi had said that BJP claims SC announced the verdict based on parliamentary Public Accounts Committee (PAC) report and was in the public domain, however, no one had seen it, not even senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, who heads the PAC.

He had said, “The basic foundation of the Supreme Court judgement is the CAG report. PAC chairman has not seen the CAG report. aYet the court has seen it. Where is the CAG report? Show us? Maybe it was shown to the France parliament? Maybe PM Modi has his own PAC in PMO (Prime Minister's office)... since he has destroyed every institution”.

On the other side, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley rejected Congress’ JPC probe into the deal and sought Gandhi’s apology for making ‘false’ allegations on the government. Briefing the media, Jaitley said, “Disrupters have lost on all counts, and those who manufactured falsehood compromised the security of the country.
