New Delhi, May 21: The nation on Tuesday paid homage to former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi on his 28th death anniversary today. Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated in a suicide bombing at Sriperumbudur of Tamil Nadu on this day in 1991. On Tuesday, Congress President Rahul Gandhi, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress General Secretary for UP (East) Priyanka Gandhi Vadra paid floral tribute to the former Prime Minister on his death anniversary at Veer Bhumi. The Congress party too took to Twitter to remember Rajiv Gandhi and honour the life of Late PM. Hailing the Ex-PM, Congress tweeted saying he was a visionary leader and a fine human being. He stood for compassion, love & truth.
