Bhopal, October 6: The Samajwadi Party on Saturday released its first list of candidates for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh assembly elections 2018. The announcement came shortly after SP president Akhilesh Yadav lashed out at the Congress for not coming up with a pre-poll pact with the smaller parties.

The six candidates named by the SP are: KK Singh, contesting from Sidhi; Kankar Munjare from Paraswada; Anubha Munjare from Balaghat constituency, Meera Yadav from Nivadi, Dashrath Singh Yadav from Panna and Ashok Arya from Budhni. Full Schedule and Dates of Madhya Pradesh Elections 2018.

Earlier in the day, the Election Commission announced the dates for Madhya Pradesh assembly polls. Voting will be held in a single-phase on November 28. The aspirants would be allowed to file their candidature between November 2-9. The nominations will be scrutinised on November 14. The election results will be declared on December 11 -- when the Commission will also declare the winners in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram.

Akhilesh Yadav's decision to go solo in Madhya Pradesh comes a couple of days after Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati vented her angst against the Congress and decided to contest the polls without a pre-poll alliance.

"BSP has already declined any tie up with the grand old party and I am sure other parties in other poll-bound states will also soon announce their candidates," Akhilesh said.
