New Delhi, Mar 16: The rebellious stance taken by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) post Budget announcement  -- where Finance Minister Arun Jaitley failed to accord Andhra Pradesh with the 'special category' status -- has finally culminated into Chandrababu Naidu's exit from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ruling at Centre.

Naidu had joined hands with BJP ahead of the 2014 general elections. With 16 of its MPs elected in the Lok Sabha, the BJP-led NDA decided to include two of its lawmakers in the government. Ashok Gajapathi Raju was appointed as the Union Civil Aviation Minister and Y S Chowdary was inducted as Minister of State for Technology and Earth Sciences.

With TDP gone, the strength of parties in the NDA camp in Lok Sabha has dropped to 12.

Here's a List of Parties still part of the ruling NDA at Centre:

Shiv Sena: The BJP's 25-year-old ally is the second largest constituent of NDA, with 18 MPs from Maharashtra. It has only one Minister in the central government: Anant Geete, who heads the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises.

Lok Janshakti Party: The LJP-led by Ram Vilas Paswan won six seats in the 2014 general elections. Paswan was inducted into the government as Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.

- Shiromani Akali Badal: The SAD of former Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal won four seats in the Lok Sabha elections. Party's senior leader and daughter-in-law of Parkash, Harsimrat Kaur Badal was appointed as the Union Minister of Food Processing Industries.

Rashtriya Lok Samata Party: The RLSP led by staunch Bihar's top OBC leader Upendra Kushwaha won all three seats which were allocated to it by the BJP from Bihar. Kushwaha was inducted into the government as Minister of State in Human Resource Department (HRD).

- Apna Dal: The Anupriya Patel-led party was the only political partner of BJP in Uttar Pradesh. The party won 2 Lok Sabha seats. Patel was inducted as Minister of State in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

- Pattali Makkal Katchi: Led by former Union Minister Anbumani Ramadoss, the party was one of the alliance partners of BJP in Tamil Nadu. PMK succeeded in winning one seat in the Lok Sabha, by wresting the Dharmapuri constituency from the DMK. However, the party was not included Narendra Modi's ministry.

All India NR Congress: The Puducherry-based party wrested the lone Lok Sabha seat of the state from Congress veteran V Narayanasamy -- who later went on to become the chief minister following 2016 assembly polls. The All India NR Congress MP, however, was not inducted into Modi's government.

- Naga People's Front: The party's lone MP from Nagaland Neiphiu Rio had extended support to the BJP-led government. Rio, however, broke away from the NPF last year and formed the Nationalist People's Democratic Party (NPDP). Rio's NPDP won the assembly elections held last month, with him being appointed as the CM. Bye-elections will be conducted for the Lok Sabha seat he represented.

- Janata Dal (United): JD(U) of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is the latest entrant to the NDA camp, after breaking the Mahagathbandhan with RJD and Congress last year. The two JD(U) MPs have so far not been included in the central government.

- Bharatiya Janata Party: BJP leads the NDA with 274 members in the Lok Sabha. Although 282 party candidates had won in 2014, the numbers went down to bypolls necessitated following the demise of some lawmakers, while others making their way back to state assemblies.

The current strength of NDA lawmakers in Lok Sabha is 312, down from 331 MPs the alliance had in May, 2014. So far, two parties from the NDA camp have withdrawn support - the Swabhimani Rajapaksa (1) and TDP (16). Numbers further altered due to bypolls necessitated for various reasons.
