Dehradun, June 30: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat's wife continues to be posted in Dehradun since 1996 even as she got a promotion in 2008, revealed a Right to Information (RTI) query. The RTI query filed by RTI activist Praveen Sharma revealed that Rawat's wife Sunita Rawat has been posted in a school in Dehradun's Ajabpur Kalan since 1996 even after she received a promotion in 2008.

"Through a query, we asked where did Sunita Rawat get posted after her promotion. The answer we got was shocking, as even after her promotion, she is still working in Dehradun for last 22 years" Sharma said as quoted by ANI. He also added, "We have faced many difficulties in obtaining these documents."

This comes at a time when Rawat is caught in a controversy after he ordered the arrest and suspension of a teacher following an argument with her at his Janata Darbar. Uttarakhand teacher Uttara Bahuguna was suspended after Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat ordered action against her following a heated argument at his Janata Darbar. While earlier videos showed the teacher using abusive language, fresh videos were released by media channels on Friday, showing what exactly happened.

In the fresh videos, the teacher can be heard telling the Chief Minister that she had been posted at remote areas for the past 25 years and her husband was taking care of her kids. She then says that her husband died last year and she can now neither leave her kids nor her job, and asked the CM to transfer her. On this, Rawat was seen losing his calm, asking her to "behave like a teacher". The teacher, in her frustration, says, "Everyone is a Neta. We also have feelings."
