In the 234-member Assembly, TVK secured 108 seats on its own. Vijay Meets Governor at Lok Bhavan
Following the confirmation of support, Vijay arrived at Lok Bhavan in Chennai to meet with Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. The meeting, scheduled for 6:30 PM, was intended for the formal submission of his claim to form the next government.
Large crowds of supporters gathered outside the Governor's residence to celebrate the development. Many observers view the transition as a historic shift in a state that has been dominated by traditional Dravidian parties for several decades.
