Rajasthan, August 30: There has been some chaos lately in Rajasthan University, as a result of which Jaipur Police had to use mild force on them. According to a FirstPost Hindi report, ABVP, NSUI and Independent candidates and their supporters clashed with each other on the last day of campaigning in the campus. In the clash, candidate Ranvir Singhania was seriously injured, who is currently undergoing treatment at SMS Hospital. Police also deployed additional forces in the university campus and colleges. Reportedly, Ranvir was getting threats since morning. No arrests have been made on this case till late last night.
Police reached the spot and took the candidates to Gandhi Nagar police station. There also students were shouting slogans against the government. ABVP general secretary Dinesh as quoted in the report said, "We were arrested by a lathi charge and were beaten up by police, who took us to the police station."
On August 31, except for Jodhpur, there is voting for the student wing of the university and colleges in the state.
