UP Rape Case: Minor Raped by 17-Year-old Neighbour Near Her House In Chandauli, Culprit Absconding

Chandauli, May 10: A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 17-year old neighbour at a farm, near her house, last night, as reported by ANI. The culprit is missing, however, police investigation is underway to nab the accused immediately. On Wednesday, a similar case was reported from Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh, when a 7-year old child was raped. According to a report on ANI, the girl was sent for further medical examination. The culprit in this case is also missing.

On the back of the numerous crimes being reported against minors, the POCSO ACT was amended, whereby, if convicted of raping a minor, between 0-12, death penalty will be given.

In another unfortunate and a shameful incident, that was reported this week itself, a woman was gang-raped in a moving car allegedly by two men after they threw her three-year-old child from the vehicle on Delhi-Dehradun national highway in Uttar Pradesh.
