The long wait is over! Miss Philippines Catriona Gray has bagged the 67th Miss Universe 2018 title. The Philippine beauty is naturally on cloud nine now. This year, the Miss Universe pageant was hosted by Thailand and it continued with its continent-based format where the judges picked the top five candidates from the following regions—The Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Africa. They even gave five wild-card spots for the contestants from across the universe to make it to the top 20. But none other than the beauty queen from the Philippines was crowned Miss Universe 2018 by last year’s winner Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, at the end of the Sunday’s broadcast. The Beach Baby.
The Boss Lady!
This is the third time after 1992 and 2005 that Thailand hosted the beauty competition. The Philippines have always dominated the beauty pageants. Throughout the history, the country reportedly has garnered the top crown; a total of 14 times—four of Miss Earth, six of Miss International, one for Miss World and three glorious coronations on the Miss Universe stage. And with Gray’s Miss Universe 2018 crowning, the country is undoubtedly ruling the beauty parade.
