There are many takes of monochrome style in Bollywood, in fact, just about every day we get to see our actresses flaunt the chic fashion trend effortlessly. As per fashion vocabulary, “monochromatic style means wearing separates of one colour that have different textures and/or similar shades of that colour for an overall tonal look.” While wearing patterns, and colour blocking can be quite tedious, these ladies are showing us how to wear a monochromatic outfit like a boss and for different occasions. We had Priyanka Chopra nailing a midi-length dress by Fendi for a formal brand event, and, on the other hand, we have pictures of Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt showing us how to wear monochrome for casual outings, be it the airport look or on a salon trip. Here’s a look at five divas who recently provided us with a style guide to capture the monochrome fashion trend without breaking into a sweat. Nargis Fakhri in a Cut-Out Monokini and Jennifer Winget in an Anarkali, These Stars Kill It in Sexy Black.

1. Deepika Padukone in Proenza Schouler

Deepika Padukone’s airport looks are always high on comfort and style, and the lady does not like to compromise on either of two factors. In her latest appearance at the Mumbai Airport, the 32-year-old wore a solid black draped pants from Proenza Schouler, which she teamed up with a white tank top. The dimpled-beauty carried maroon YSL bag and Nike Cortez shoes as she flashed her million dollar smiles for the waiting paparazzi.

2. Priyanka Chopra in Fendi

Priyanka Chopra is making midi length dresses a new wardrobe staple. Once again, the Bharat actress chose a midi dress, this time a striped Fendi dress to attend a brand event in Mumbai. Styled by Ami Patel, PeeCee shows us how to wear a combination of stripes, vertical and horizontal, the right way. She is wearing earrings from Azotiique by Varun Raheja and rings by Angana Nanavaty Jewelry. But it’s her shoulder length deep side part hairstyle is done by Florian Hurel Makeup & Hair proving to be the highlight of Priyanka’s look.

3. Alia Bhatt Rocking Athleisure Trend

Alia does not need an occasion to make fashion statements, and a casual salon trip will do. The young star who is lately in the news for dating Ranbir Kapoor was spotted outside a salon in Mumbai rocking athleisure style and a pair of flip-flops with ‘Love’ written over it. What we truly loved about her whole look was its casualness – sticking to dashing grey, the stripes and her make-up free radiant look, basically, we loved everything about Alia’s take on monochrome fashion.

4. Karishma Tanna in The Yellow Gypsy

Nothing’s more comfy and chic than a pair of the shirtdress, just like the one Karishma Tanna is wearing for her latest Instagram post. The 34-year-old wore a Backwater shirt dress from The Yellow Gypsy, cinched her waist with a thin brown belt. The Sanju actress kept it minimalistic by wearing casual brown sandals and a white bracelet as an accessory for the outfit. It is another fantastic way to don a monochromatic outfit.

5. Karisma Kapoor Goes Super Chic in Gingham Dress

Karisma Kapoor has been holidaying in London with family, and the ever-stylish actress has given us some serious fashion moments. One of the dresses, which has inspired a lot of us to get our hands on is Karisma’s gingham dress. The black and white short dress looks apt both for vacation as well as a semi-casual day at work. We loved how Karisma has teamed up the oversized sunglasses as an accessory along with the right choice of blingy pink shoes to break the monotony of her look.

So, these were the ladies who nailed the monochromatic style, more in the colours of black, white, and grey and of course with a lot of stripes and prints. Let us know whose style has impressed you the most – Deepika, Priyanka, Alia, Karishma or Karisma or is it anyone else, we totally forgot to mention?
