Hailing from the city of Nagpur, Vidhi Wadhwani, 32, says in one of her press release that her collection Solistice is inspired by the juxtaposition of light and shadow created during the day and night. Her collection resonates with the carefree nomadic easy-going muse who doesn’t conform to the usual. She has further explained that her muse for the collection is a woman who creates her own style, likes to experiment and is confident of her own identity. The Autumn/Winter 2018 line is especially focused on being season-less. The collection will also feature a lot of bright yellows against blacks and whites, metallic applique against transparent fabrics and garments with double layering. In one of her telephonic interviews with New18.com, speaking about what inspired her to become a designer, Vidhi revealed that she realised she had a talent for creating beautiful textures out of plain fabrics and that’s something she thought was novel in the fashion market.

Besides Vidhi’s collection being featured in London Fashion Week, her creations have gradually found its way into the wardrobes of Bollywood celebrities like Soha Ali Khan, DIa Mirza and Tapsee Pannu among others. Although that is not her aim, but she admits that a celebrity endorsement of any kind helps in the growth of the brand. It is a dream come true for any designer to be able to showcase their creation on a global platform. It is a mark of true achievement being appreciated both within and outside the country.
