In leading our busy lives every day, we all undermine the nature, our Mother Earth, the ultimate source of all our existence. We have seen, read and are even experiencing the damage that has been caused to it by the humans.o remind us of our relationship with nature, International Mother Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22. The idea is to recognize a collective responsibility towards the planets and also promote harmony with nature. The Climate Change is changing the weather scene globally, while some parts of the globe are experiencing terrible snow and rain there are places where the water has been used up. A ground zero situation has arisen and if we do not take a step for nature now, we are heading towards a catastrophe.

We need to alter our lifestyles to make it at least bearable for the next generations. We need to make it a practice to promote nature-friendly ways of living our lives. Let us look at some easy steps in which you could do your bit and help in protecting the Earth from further damage, which is happening, the moment as you are reading this.

Tips for leading an Eco-friendly lifestyle:

    1. Practice Conservation:

We need to realise that the material or rather the minerals that we have now are replenishable. We need to practice conservation of limited resources and look for alternatives. We can totally look for making maximum utility out of renewable resources like solar or wind energy.

    2. Plant more trees:

This is definitely the need of the hour. The amount at which there are developmental projects everywhere the forest cover is reducing. The rising deforestation is one of the primary reasons for climate change. we should encourage the habit of planting at least one to two trees every month. Be part of a tree plantation drives as much as you can.

    3. Opt for a carpool:

As much as we try, there is no escaping the traffic scene. What is causing more traffic is the number of cars out there. We can contribute a little by opting for carpool than taking our private cars. Try and rely on public transport for short distances. If you are the one taking a private car, offer carpool.

    4. Use plastic only when necessary:

Plastic bans have been imposed in different parts but not everywhere are they executed well. Plastic is one of the biggest threat that is polluting the environment. It takes decades to decompose and the recycling process is also not a convenient one. So whatever usage we are doing, needs to stop. Limit your usage of plastic, be it bags, tiffins or bottles. Make jute or clothes bag a fashion statement!

    5. Give up showers:

A good shower feels good after a long tiring day but think about the long run. The amount of water that goes into taking a shower, one would have water taps running dry in a few years. Taking a shower once in a while is fine, but every day is a bad idea.

    6. Buy local products: This is a very useful measure you could adopt. Rather than heading for exotic markets in the need for 'fresh' products, go local. You will get a better quantity at the same price and it also saves in the form of your carbon footprint.
    7. Compost is wealth:

If you are a keen nature lover and follow about climate change then you'd know the advantages of composting the waste. It is the best way to recycle wet waste. It is easy, quick and a wealthy source of manure to your plants. Composting is very easy, cost-effective and you will definitely benefit from it. It is a wealth we all can make but do not realise.

    8. Volunteer and educate:

If you are aware of most of the ways mentioned here and do follow them, then make it a point you pass the message to others. Try and be an active volunteer with many NGOs who carry the same message. If not, educate the children in your vicinity. Half the people out there do not even know what they are doing is causing such a big harm to the environment. Educating and creating awareness is important for saving the planet.Last but not the least remember

If you are already leading a greener lifestyle then we appreciate it. But if you are not, then these are some of these basic steps can be executed immediately. It is of vital importance to realise the effects of damage that we have been doing. We need to start a mission to save our mother Earth. Yes, you have to let go of the common luxuries but if you want to lead a greener life of peace and self-sustainment then going the eco-friendly way is the right way!
