Mumbai, June 06: The people of Muslim community observe Roza (a type of fasting) during the holy month of Ramzan. The month of Ramadan ul-Kareem, this year, began in the month of May in the Indian subcontinent. People of Muslim community who saw the crescent moon on 29th Sha’ban began their Rozas from May 17. The people in India observe the rituals of Sehri and Iftar at different times, as the timings differ from location to location. The residents of the Delhi city will see their Sehri time at 04.07 am, whereas their Iftar time will begin at 07.17 pm.

For the people living in Mumbai city will be observing their Sehri at 04.52 am, however, their Iftar time will begin at 07.15 pm. In Bhopal, the people from Muslim community will see their Sehri on June 7 end on 04.23 am and their Iftar time is slated to start at 07.05 pm. For the residents in Srinagar, who will be observing Roza, their Sehri time will end at 03.56 am, whereas their Iftar time will begin at 07.40 pm.

When to see the Eid Moon sighting?

The people in Saudi Arabia, along with the Middle East, Singapore, Malaysia, Maldives, Sri Lanka, UK, Australia, Pakistan and most parts of India will attempt the sighting of the moon on June 14. If the crescent is sighted, Eid-al-Fitr will be celebrated on June 15. If the moon is not sighted, the festival would be observed by default on June 16.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh and parts of India, including Maharashtra, northern Karnataka, West Bengal and Assam would attempt sighting the crescent on June 15. If the moon gets sighted, Eid would be celebrated on June 16, else the festival would be observed on June 17.
