Gazi Nazrul Islam Viral Video Row: Satkhira-4 MP Seen With Woman in Multiple Leaked Clips, Expelled
Leaked CCTV footage showing Satkhira-4 MP Gazi Nazrul Islam entering a hotel and kissing a woman has escalated political fallout. Despite his claim that the woman is his second wife, administrative discrepancies emerged, leading Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami to expel him over moral conduct violations.
The political fallout surrounding Satkhira-4 Member of Parliament Gazi Nazrul Islam or GM Nazrul Islam has intensified following the online leak of multiple CCTV clips showing him in private settings with a woman. The new CCTV recordings surfaced shortly after the lawmaker publicly responded to an initial video leak by claiming the woman involved was his second wife. Amid the controversy, online searches for "Gazi Nazrul Islam viral video", "Nazrul Islam viral video", "Satkhira 4 MP viral video" and "Bangladesh viral video" have surged.
Details of the Newly Leaked Footage
According to videos circulating on social media platforms, the latest batch of leaked footage consists of CCTV camera angles recorded in public and semi-private spaces. One video purportedly captures the MP entering a commercial hotel building alongside the woman. A separate security feed purportedly depicts the two standing in a hotel lobby, where he is seen kissing her.

Lawmaker's 'Second Wife' Defense and Discrepancies
Following the release of the initial private clip, Islam issued a public statement addressing the matter, asserting that the woman was his second wife, Moriam Begum, and that their marriage took place on June 17, 2026, with the full consent of his first wife. He further claimed he was the victim of an extortion attempt by personal associates who illegally obtained and leaked the footage. Video statements supporting his account were subsequently released by his family members
However, according to reports by local news outlets including Dhaka Tribune and The Dissent, several administrative discrepancies emerged in his narrative. Observers pointed to a job application resume belonging to the woman, which was signed and officially recommended by Islam on June 22, five days after the claimed marriage date, that still listed her marital status as "unmarried".
Political Action and Organizational Response
The leak of additional CCTV footage triggered rapid political developments. On July 21, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, the political party with which Islam was long affiliated, issued a statement through Assistant Secretary General Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair announcing an internal review.
The following day, on July 22, the party officially announced his expulsion. According to an official statement reported by Prothom Alo, Islam was expelled for violating Article 62 of the party’s constitution, which governs moral conduct standards.
Local community groups and civic forums in Satkhira have held public gatherings demanding official administrative reviews into the affair, while parliamentary observers continue to evaluate the potential implications for his seat in the Jatiya Sangsad.
