Piyush Goyal ambitiously started the hop-on-hop-off train service which connects Kalka- Shimla. The Vistadome coach had its first trial run on November 10. But almost three weeks since the starting of the HoHo service, not even one person has volunteered to take a ride. A single ticket is valid for 6 trains. Although started with great gusto, there seems to be no information available at the ticket window. Glass-top Trains in Kashmir: Tourists in Kashmir Valley to Soon Travel on Vistadome Trains.

The northern railway or the e-ticket portal of IRCTC also provides no information about this service yet. Maybe because the tourist season is yet to start, there seems to be no booking yet. Parveen Gaur, railways’ senior divisional commercial manager said to a TOI report, "We expect the ticket sales to pick up soon. The division had told the IRCTC to upload the information about the new service and it will remind the corporation if the latter forgot." The ticket rates are also higher than the other heritage coaches which run on the same route. Neral-Matheran Toy Train Coach to be Renewed With Glass Ceiling.

Railway Minister was quite ambitious about the whole project and wants tourists to enjoy the route with a single ticket. The route is quite scenic and the vistadome enables lovely views of the aesthetic landscape. The ticket rates of the HoHo service are Rs 500 a day. A passenger can alight either from Barog or Shoghi and enjoy the beautiful views to Shimla.
