The biennial World Beard and Moustache Championships 2019 was held on Friday in Antwerp, Belgium. Moustache Club of Antwerp brought together moustache and beard lovers from across countries for a three-day convention and contest. While the event is primarily aimed at men, one of the categories in the competition is for Realistic and Creative expression of artificial beards and moustaches. At the event, men with all kinds of moustache, shaped beards and highly styled facial hair can be spotted. Michael Wallage with long beard won the first place while Paul Card with brown beard won the second place. Beard Bouquets: Men Handsomely Sporting Flowers in Their Beard is One Fun Fashion Trend.

While there are usually 17 categories, in 2009, 2013 and 2015, there were 18 different categories. In 2009, the event was hosted by The South Central Alaska Beard and Moustache Club.

In 2013, a new category for one cm short carved beards was introduced which was named as Trend Beard in 2015.

The competition has three categories in facial hair including moustache, partial beard and a full beard. Each category is judged by an array of judges. The World Beard and Mustache Association which hosted the event in 1990 is the governing body situated in Holten, Germany. The event is held every two years and has been held in Brighton in Englan,  Anchorage in Alaska, Trondheim in Norway, Stuttgart in Germany, Leogang in Austria, and Austin in Texas.
