Recently, a video shared by a resident of Haridwar introduced Gupta to a wider audience online. In the video, he urges people to feed sadhus, saying that five babas could be fed for INR 100 and 11 babas for INR 200. He also says that fresh food, including roti and dal makhani, would be served.

The video claimed that the man, known as the "Bhandara King," hailed from Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh and was named Ramashankar Gupta. While making the appeal, he repeatedly said, "Babuji, arrange a Bhandara." His distinctive style of speaking resonated with viewers, making him a well-known personality on social media.

The phrase "Bhandara kar do, Babuji" became closely associated with Ramashankar Gupta and was widely shared across social media platforms in recent months. His videos highlighted charitable food distribution at Haridwar, where devotees regularly organise free meals as part of religious offerings. Police are continuing their investigation into his death.
