Discovery of the Incident in Uttar Pradesh

The girl’s body was recovered near Godhana village in the Alinagar area of Chandauli. Local residents spotted the body floating near a bridge early Wednesday and immediately alerted authorities. According to police records, the deceased was a resident of Lewa Mod village. At the time of the incident, she was visiting her maternal grandparents in the neighbouring Mirzapur district.

Investigators have determined that the incident was triggered by a disagreement between the girl and her mother. Preliminary findings suggest that the girl was recording social media reels when her mother reprimanded her, advising her to limit her social media usage and cease filming videos. Police Statement on the Incident

Senior police official Arun Kumar Singh confirmed that a team was dispatched as soon as the department was notified of the discovery. Singh said that the police received information about a young woman's body lying in the canal. A team reached the spot, recovered the body and initiated an investigation. Authorities have registered a case regarding the death. While officials are currently examining the sequence of events and the circumstances leading to the girl's actions, they noted that the investigation remains ongoing, pending the results of the post-mortem report.
