Woman Says Harassment Began While She Was Asleep
According to her post, the incident took place on July 3 while she was travelling from Siwan to Patliputra in the general compartment of a train.
She said she had climbed onto an upper berth and fallen asleep during the journey. When the train reached Chhapra, several elderly men boarded and took the seats below her. She said she asked him to stop, but he ignored her and continued trying to touch her from the front. The behaviour, she said, briefly paused before resuming.

The woman further alleged that after she moved further away on the berth, another elderly man also reached up and touched her. Another Uncomfortable Encounter Followed
She said she then moved to another coach, which she found overcrowded, and ended up sitting near the entrance outside an AC coach. There, she alleged, a young man approached her claiming to have links with an examination centre and offered to help her clear an exam in exchange for money.
She said he repeatedly asked for her phone number despite her refusal, insisting she save his contact as a "brother." The man eventually got off the train at Dighwara, after which she said she finally felt safe.

In her post, the woman questioned whether women can truly feel secure while travelling alone, asking what kind of mentality some men carry today.
The post drew widespread reaction online, with users expressing outrage and urging her and other victims of harassment to report such incidents to authorities immediately. Several commenters shared safety suggestions, including carrying sharp objects like hairpins for self-defence and alerting the police without delay, while others called for stronger action against repeat offenders.
No formal police complaint in connection with the incident has been confirmed at this time.
