A routine afternoon at a boys' hostel in Kota, Rajasthan, took a startling turn on Saturday, July 18, when a crocodile was found navigating the building’s interior. The reptile, which had wandered into the basement mess, caused a brief period of alarm among students and staff before being safely captured by forest department officials.

Intruder Caught on CCTV

The incident occurred at approximately 1:00 PM at a hostel located in the Coral Park area. Surveillance footage from the facility captured the 4-foot-long crocodile slowly descending a staircase and making its way into the basement dining hall. Rajasthan Crocodile Viral Video: Huge Crocodile Spotted on Road in Kota Stopping Pedestrians and Vehicles.

The appearance of the animal triggered an immediate evacuation of the area. Staff members working in the kitchen reportedly abandoned the premises to ensure their safety as news of the unexpected visitor quickly reached the students residing in the building. While some students attempted to intervene, their efforts reportedly caused the animal to become agitated, leading to further confusion within the mess area.

Origin and Rescue Operation

Authorities believe the crocodile entered the hostel premises through a large drain situated nearby. The animal likely traversed the residential complex before finding its way into the basement level. Following the alarm, the hostel administration alerted the forest department, which dispatched a rescue team to the scene. The team conducted a controlled operation to secure the reptile. Forest official Virendra Singh confirmed that the operation was successful, with no injuries reported to students, staff, or the animal during the process. Nagaur Police Raid 12 Hotels, Detain 15; Viral Video Shows Man Fleeing Naked.

The crocodile was subsequently transported from the hostel and released back into the Chambal River, its natural habitat. The incident has since prompted discussions regarding the proximity of residential areas to the river and the potential for wildlife movement during the monsoon season.
