Mumbai, July 11: Several social media users are sharing a screenshot of an advertisement article allegedly published by The Indian Express circulating on social media is claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is endorsing an investment scheme offering daily returns of up to INR 1.25 lakh on an investment of INR 21,000. An X, formerly Twitter, user shared the screenshot of the article that carried the article with headline, "MY FINANCIAL PROJECT. ₹21,350 today-₹1,50,000 in a month. India is already doing it!" The post was captioned, "It started small, but not it's too big to overlook." The PIB clarified that the image is fake and was Artificial Intelligence (AI)-generated. “An AI-generated, morphed advertisement is circulating online, falsely claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is promoting an investment scheme that promises ₹1.5 lakh returns in just one month for an investment of ₹21,350," PIB Fact Check wrote. The bureau further confirmed that The Indian Express has not published any such article. It also cautioned users against clicking any links with such images as they could be a phishing attempt.
