According to the text visible in the book, Meloni was born on January 15, 1977, in Rome and became involved in politics at the age of 15. It also highlights her rise through Italian politics before becoming the country's prime minister.
Giorgia Meloni Became Italy’s First Woman PM
The book identifies Meloni as Italy’s prime minister since October 22, 2022. Her election marked a historic moment for Italy, as she became the first woman to serve as prime minister of the country. Meloni leads the Brothers of Italy, or Fratelli d’Italia, the political party she helped establish in 2012. From Youth Politics To National Leadership
The page states that Meloni became Italy’s minister of youth in 2008, making her the youngest person to hold a ministerial post at the time. In 2012, she co-founded the Brothers of Italy (Fratelli d’Italia), becoming its leader in 2014. Her political career subsequently expanded from youth and parliamentary politics to national leadership.
The Class 6 GK page also mentions that Meloni received the Global Citizen Award from the Atlantic Council in 2024. It credits her leadership with reforms and changes concerning Italy’s economy, family policies and immigration system. The inclusion of an international political figure in a school-level GK book has drawn attention online, with the viral video focusing as much on the unusual classroom reference as on Meloni’s political background.
The video has circulated on social media after the person filming it reacted to Meloni’s inclusion in the book. The light-hearted commentary contrasts with the page's factual presentation of her political career, including her early entry into politics, ministerial appointment, role in founding the Brothers of Italy and eventual rise to the premiership.
