It is just a day ago, we celebrated the World Environment Day with a very apt theme calling out everyone to 'Beat Plastic Pollution.' World over, the usage of plastic has become a crisis. Coming to India, there have been several times a ban has been imposed on plastic but the implementation is never good enough. The state of Maharashtra too imposed a ban on plastic bags and other items, but it has come to highlight how the state ministers are not exactly successful in the orders. A picture of Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis sitting in a conference held for a plastic ban has been doing the rounds on the internet. It is being trolled online as all the ministers have small plastic bottles of water in front of them for the meeting.

No sooner, the image made it microblogging platform Twitter, netizens called out to the grim reality of the situation. The picture's captions clearly state the agenda of the meeting was regarding the ban of plastic. CM was meeting with the plastic manufacturers discussing the fate of the plastic ban, but the plastic water bottles that were kept on the table show otherwise.

Spotting the irony, many Twitter users shared it and called out to the sad situation of management.

Plastic in the brains

It's all for the show!

People expressed their disappointment at the situation. The picture has been liked more than a 1000 times and close to 800 retweets even before 24 hours. While some shopkeepers have stopped giving out plastic bags, there are still no alternatives suggested. So the total ban on plastic still remains a question unanswered and not properly tackled.
